Spreading Love at the 9th Annual “Backed By A Bag” Giveaway

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Spreading Love Foundation (SLF) proudly joined the Bharati Foundation, Pugsley Preparatory Academy PTA, PS 119 PTA, the NYPD Desi Society, the Bangladesh American Police Association, NLPOA, and other community partners to host the 9th Annual “Backed By A Bag” Back to School & Grocery Giveaway in the Bronx.

Held at 1111 Pugsley Avenue, the event brought together hundreds of families for an afternoon filled with joy, resources, and community spirit. Children received backpacks and school supplies to prepare for the new academic year, while families took home groceries, essential items, and access to helpful community resources. Music, laughter, and a true sense of unity filled the air.

Honoring Detective Didarul Islam

This year’s program was dedicated to the memory of Detective Didarul Islam, a cherished neighbor from the Parkchester community who gave his life protecting others. His legacy of courage and service was honored throughout the day, reminding everyone of the importance of compassion and sacrifice.

SLF’s Contribution

As a proud partner, Spreading Love Foundation supported the event by contributing to the on-ground outreach. Our team was deeply moved to witness the impact of collective action — from smiling children carrying new backpacks to grateful parents receiving much-needed groceries.
